Andrew Christie introduced the author and chatted a little about how this book came to be published.
Ms Mackenzie wrote the contents over many years and used it as an accompaniment to the courses and talks she held – so many years of knowledge have been packed into this book.
Ms Mackenzie demonstrated some of this knowledge through interesting, simple and eye-opening exercises! We unconsciously judge those around us and our interactions are based on these impressions. As the author notes: ‘it’s never too late or too early to reclaim your own beauty and to

start making the most of yourself.’
The book is designed to help each reader (female or male btw) recognize that outer beauty comes from within and the inner work is required to make us an expert on ourselves so that we can be our authentic self.
To give an idea of how helpful this book is, here are some of the tips for purchasing clothing:
Don’t buy anything to slim into – you will feel bad if you don’t
Be discriminating at sales – do not just buy something because it is cheap
Do not let sales assistants override your instincts
Check the care instructions label before you buy new clothing – will you really take that fantastic jacket to the dry cleaner?
Take cognisance of the store’s returns policy. Try your new purchases on in natural light when you get home and confirm that the item is right for you. If not, return it as soon as possible.
This was one of those launches that I walked out of feeling uplifted and with some practical knowledge.
