A trim young lady dressed in a white uniform with ‘The Cosmetics Chef’ emblazoned on it, greeted her guests with hugs and laughter as they arrived. The distinct plum-like purple of the logo was to be seen all over. Enticing purple bags with bottles and jars were artfully displayed on a table and various bowls, mixers and other equipment were seen on the bar next to a box of

bicarbonate of soda and some disprin. All looked

intriguing and I wondered what it was all for.

The author had a short conversation with a long-time friend Jessica after Conny’s business coach talked a little about the journey of a business woman.

These are a few of the things I learned about this author:

Born in Johannesburg
Always interested in chemistry
Looked for a job in the industry by phoning companies until she managed to get advice
Studied towards a diploma in cosmetic chemistry
Managed to find a job and has enjoyed working in the cosmetics industry
The book came about through a love of writing, a group of writing friends and the purchase of a ThermoMix!
Started creating simple recipes for people to make in their kitchens with easily available ingredients
Creating the cover was a journey………
Researched making cosmetics at home including seeing what was easily available to the average person
Experimented daily until the recipes were formulated to her expectations

Other thoughts and processes were shared along with a demonstration of how to make a detox face mask in a few easy steps.

This one is on my shelf and I will be crafting gifts for friends and family for Christmas and birthday gifts!
