Not only did I get to listen to this quirky fantasy romance, I also managed to snag an interview with the author - go me!!
First - the book:
Perhaps a little complicated, the plot nevertheless moves from A to B culminating in an oddly satisfying ending. Ms Loebel has devised a unique magic system for the world she has built around modern day America. The use of karma is intriguing and once the reader understands and buys into this, the story is a joy to read.
The characters are interesting and quirky and the humor is enjoyable. I found myself egging Felicity on during her quest to understand the new world she finds herself in.
Overall, an enjoyable story with an intriguing cover and tagline and recommended to adult lovers of fantasy romance.
The narrators chosen for this story are both great - taking the female and male POV, they do the job with flair resulting in a listen with no flaws.

The interview with Vicky Loebel was easy and fun despite her reservations! The approximately 40 minute chat is split into six parts, all adding insight into this fascinating author.
